Taqueria El Arquito

A traditional taqueria rooted in its hometown heritage, reimagined with a modern aesthetic.

For this family-owned taqueria, we’ve chosen to celebrate their roots from Taxco, Mexico. Blending the warmth of tradition with the sensibility of modern design. The space draws inspiration from classic Mexican architectural motifs while presenting them through a contemporary lens.

The design centers on a repeated arch motif, a symbolic gesture to both identity and place — seen in the arched, clay breeze block, the tiled niche with religious iconography, and the neon logo that anchors the brand. Earth-toned tiles and natural wood elements establish a warm, grounded palette, while clean white tile and open sightlines to the kitchen bring a sense of modern simplicity and transparency.

Accents of bright cobalt blue seating inject energy and playfulness into the space, balancing the earthiness with vibrancy. The integration of handcrafted details with minimal, modern finishes creates a dialogue between past and present — honoring the essence of a hometown taqueria from Taxco while redefining it for today.
