Hurtado Barbecue
an elevated, yet approachable take on a Texas barbecue joint
For Hurtado Barbecue’s flagship dine-in location, we intentionally moved beyond the conventional industrial aesthetic to craft a refined, modern smokehouse experience. The exterior is wrapped in a dynamic combination of charcoal-hued panels and natural cedar siding, setting a warm yet contemporary tone. Bold, custom signage and a sculptural cow installation establish a strong visual identity at the entrance, drawing guests in with a sense of purpose and place.
Inside, a curated palette of blackened metal fixtures, artisan tilework, and thoughtfully placed signage that speaks to the brand’s roots while elevating the guest experience. Natural wood wainscoting adds warmth and texture, balancing the darker elements of the main dining area. Adjacent to this moody, atmospheric space, is a secondary dining room that offers a lighter, more relaxed counterpoint, featuring soft white siding and sage green accents that bring a fresh, inviting contrast to the overall composition.
